Adele Announces Indefinite Hiatus from Music to Explore Other Creative Ventures

In a recent interview with the German broadcaster ZDF, Adele revealed that she has no immediate plans to release new music, opting instead for a significant break from her musical career to explore diverse creative pursuits.
The 36-year-old singer, known for hits like "Skyfall" and "Hello," expressed a desire for a hiatus following a consistent pattern of spacing out her albums over the years. Since her debut album '19' in 2008, followed by '21' in 2011, '25' in 2015, and '30' in 2021, Adele has taken considerable breaks between projects to rejuvenate and gather inspiration.
"I don't have any plans for new music at all," Adele stated in the interview conducted on Sunday, July 14. "I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while."
The Grammy-winning artist also touched on the pressures of fame. "I don't like being famous. I love that I get to make music all the time," she added, highlighting her passion for music despite the challenges of celebrity status.
Adele also hinted at potential involvement in film, mentioning a specific movie role she aspires to play, contingent upon the readiness of the scriptwriter involved. "That's the only role I ever want," she shared. "Because I think I'd nail it."
Amidst her planned hiatus, Adele will not be stepping completely away from the limelight. She is set to perform a series of residency shows in Munich, Germany, from August 2 to August 24, marking her first performances in Europe since 2016. This tour is intended to serve as a celebratory end to this chapter of her career before she undertakes her creative sabbatical.
Additionally, Adele confirmed her commitment to complete a string of rescheduled shows in Las Vegas, which are set to take place later this year from October to November, following an earlier postponement.
